Game Info:

New York Knicks (23-27) vs. Boston Celtics (27-22)

Madison Square Garden (7:30 p.m.)

TV: MSG, Radio: ESPN NY 98.7

Knicks Report:

The Warriors made their highly-anticipated trip to MSG on Sunday night, and for the first half, the Knicks hung with the defending champs behind 17 points from their All-Star, Carmelo Anthony. But it was all Golden State after halftime, as Draymond Green compiled his ninth triple-double of the season and Klay Thompson shot 14 for 18 en route to a 116-95 win.

Kristaps Porzingis (14 points, 6 rebounds) was New York's second-leading scorer, but the rookie struggled in his matchup with Green. Porzingis called the game "a learning experience," especially in terms of how much he needs to develop defensively.

News and Notes:

  • The last meeting between these teams was a thriller -- New York prevailed, 120-114, at The Garden behind 26 points from Porzingis and 24 from Arron Afflalo. Isaiah Thomas dropped 34, but the Knicks hung on to win against an Atlantic Division foe.
  • Langston Galloway has started the last three games in place of injured Jose Calderon (groin). In 30.4 minutes per game, he's averaging 10.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals during that span. Calderon says he hopes to return soon.
  • Since the January 12 loss, Boston has gone 8-3 to vault into a crowded mix of Eastern Conference playoff contenders. Brad Stevens' club brings the second-best defense in the NBA and has improved to 12th on offense thanks to Thomas and the development of two 25-year-old wings: Avery Bradley (15.0 points per game) and Jae Crowder (14.3). Crowder (shin) is questionable to play tonight.
  • Tonight marks the Knicks' third straight home game. After this, they'll head to Detroit to take on the Pistons on Thursday before returning for three more at MSG.
