NYK 82 MEM 103: Grizzlies Top Shorthanded Knicks

How it Happened

With a handful of key rotation players injured and eading scorer Alexey Shved unavailable after suffering a rib contusion on Sunday in Toronto, the shorthanded Knicks proved no match for Memphis tonight.

The Grizzlies opened up a 30-20 lead after one quarter, and while New York showed fight -- clawing back to take a 51-50 lead early in the 3rd quarter and again mounting a run to cut into the Grizzlies' advantage in the 4th quarter -- the Knicks fell on the second night of a back-to-back, 103-82.

Andrea Bargnani and Jason Smith keyed the 2nd quarter run that set the Knicks up to seize the lead coming out of halftime, combining for 23 points in the first half.

Knick of the Night

Langston Galloway helped keep New York in the contest through three quarters, finishing with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

Game Notes

Travis Wear (back spasms) joined Shved on the inactive list, along with Tim Hardaway Jr. (wrist) and Cleanthony Early (ankle). Jose Calderon announced before the game that he received Platelet Rich Plasma treatment today for his sore left Achilles tendon. He will be reevaluated in approximately 10-14 days.
