- Knicks fixture for a decade-and-a-half as one of game’s most respected and thorough “inside men”... Currently in his second season as director, scouting; 15th overall season with NY... Named to current post in summer 2005, Jeff manages Knicks’ scouting staff, oversees club’s preparations for NBA Draft and scouts the college, pro and European scene.
- Prior to new position, served eight years as assistant coach (1992-93 through 1999-2000), and five years (2000-01 through 2004-05) as assistant general manager... Member of coaching staff for both Knicks Eastern Conference Championship teams of the 1990s, and for East squad at NBA All-Star 2000 in Oakland.
- ”Nix of the Knicks" joined team in 1992 following five years (1987-88 through 1991-92) as assistant coach at Notre Dame under head coaches Digger Phelps and former Knicks mentor John MacLeod... Also served as assistant coach at Canisius, his alma mater (1978-79 through 1980-81), St. Francis, PA (1981-82 through 1983-84), Loyola, MD (1984-85) and Xavier (1985-86 through 1986-87)... Participated in five NCAA Tournament appearances.
- In 2005, joined Indiana businessman Ray Stults to form “Fort Carson’s Kids,” a program which purchases and donates tickets to Air Force Academy basketball and football games to children of military families stationed at nearby Fort Carson, CO.... Program will expand next year to include military families stationed at Fort Bragg (NC) and Fort Benning (GA).
- Native of Portville, NY; 48 years old (Sep. 1, 1958)... Graduated in 1980 with a degree in business from Canisius (two-year basketball letterman)... Inducted into the Portville Central School Hall of Fame in 2003 for his educational, professional and athletic accomplishments... Aviation and golf enthusiast is the holder of an airplane pilot's license... Jeff and his wife Margie have been married for 12 years and live in Granger, IN.
