2004 KNICKS DRAFT CENTRAL
The Knicks selected UCLA's Trevor Ariza with the 43rd selection in the 2004 NBA Draft.
Knicks Draft Trevor Ariza
With the 43rd pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks selected Trevor Ariza. Ariza, a 6-7 forward from UCLA, declared for the draft after one season at UCLA. A member of the All Pac-10 Freshman Team, Ariza averaged 11.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game. As a senior in high school, Ariza earned the Los Angeles City Player of the Year at Westchester High School. The 6-7 swingman was the first player from UCLA to be chosen by the Knicks since Henry Bibby in 1972.

    Kevin Wilson Q&A
As the NBA becomes an international league, the need to scout prospects overseas grows even larger. Kevin Wilson, Knicks scout, has been in Europe for a decade looking for top prospects. He has been affiliated with the Knick for the last four years. He returned to New York this week for the NBA Draft and NYKnicks.com talked with him about the life of a scout, European basketball as well as the difference between the European leagues and the NBA.

    Mike Malone Q&A
After serving as a coach at the NBA’s Pre-Draft Camp at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in early June, Knicks Assistant Coach Mike Malone returned to team with a plethora of information about potential draftees. His role as a coach at the camp will help the Knicks prepare for the June 24th Draft. NYKnicks.com talked with Mike to find out about his experience at the camp.

    Mark Aguirre Q&A
Knicks Assistant Coach Mark Aguirre was one of the first additions to the organization following the appointment of Isiah Thomas as Knicks President, Basketball Operations. He was selected first overall in the 1981 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks. After 8 seasons with the Mavericks, Aguirre joined Thomas on the Detroit Pistons, playing a key role on the team as they won two NBA Championships in 1989 and 1990. Aguirre sat down with NYKnicks.com for an update on his summer activities, as well as his thoughts on the 2004-2005 season.

    Jeff Nix Q&A
New York Knicks Assistant General Manager Jeff Nix began preparing for the 2004 NBA Draft months before the season ended. Now, scouting and workouts have intensified as the NBA draft draws near. Nix, along with President, Basketball Operations Isiah Thomas, and other key basketball operations personnel, was in Chicago in early June for the NBA Pre-Draft camp at Moody Bible Institute. NYKnicks.com caught up with Jeff to see what else the front office has been doing to find the best talent for the team.

    History of the 43rd Pick
While the New York Knicks have just one pick, the 43rd selection, in the June 24th NBA Draft, history has revealed that many good players have been drafted at that spot. From Keith Bogans, selected by Milwaukee in 2003, to Fred Carter, selected by Baltimore in 1969, here are the top-10 #43 draft selections of all-time.

    Potential Knicks Draft picks
This year's NBA Draft should be the most uncertain and volatile in many years. Even UConn star Emeka Okafor, a consensus top-2 player, has question marks about his offense and his health. The lack of sure-thing selections in the draft could help the Knicks because the 43rd pick may not be much different in potential from the first selection in the draft. NYKnicks.com discusses some possible Knicks' draft choices and the top players by position.
