An early entry candidate for the 2009 NBA Draft.
Career Highlights: An Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America and a Third-Team All-America pick by The Sporting News as a junior. Included on the final ballot for the John R. Wooden Award. Earned First-Team All-Pac-10 and All-Defensive team honors in voting done by the league's head coaches. A First-Team NABC All-District 20 pick and a USBWA All-District IX selection. As a sophomore, was an Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 and Pac-10 All-Defensive team selection. Finished his career ranked in the top 10 in school history in rebounds (763/10th), blocked shots (140/6th) and field goal percentage (.578/5th).
Junior (2008-09): Became the first Wildcat to average in double figures in both scoring (18.3) and rebounding (11.0) in the same season in 30 years. Set a school single-season record for rebounds in a season (375). Finished as the Pac-10 leader in double-doubles (20), ranked second in rebounding and blocked shots (1.7), and third in scoring. Set a career-high with 30 points to go with 18 rebounds vs. Houston. Posted 27 points and 11 rebounds at Washington. Registered a career-high 22 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive end, vs. UAB. Tallied 25 points, 14 rebounds and a career-high six blocks vs. San Diego State.
Sophomore (2007-08): Averaged 13.2 points and 7.9 rebounds in 29.4 minutes per game. Ranked first in the Pac-10 with a .620 field goal percentage and fourth in blocked shots (1.65 bpg). Had a season-high 23 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks at Illinois. Tallied 14 points and a season-high 19 rebounds at UNLV. Hit all seven shot attempts vs. Oregon State to set a Pac-10 Tournament record for field goal percentage. Also had 20 points and 14 rebounds vs. Oregon State in the first meeting of the season and went 8-of-9 from the field in the second match-up. Totaled 18 points and 14 rebounds at Arizona State.
Freshman (2006-07): Contributed 4.7 points and 4.1 rebounds in 14.1 minutes per game as a freshman. Shot .652 from the field. Ranked 10th in the Pac-10 with 0.90 blocks per game. Emerged late in the season after playing sparingly early on. Recorded three double-doubles overall. Posted a season-high 16 points, eight rebounds and a season-high five blocks vs. Washington. Registered 15 points and a season-high 14 rebounds vs. Oregon.
Personal: A sociology major. Did not play organized basketball as a high school junior.
