Asian Heritage Day Presented by Allianz Life Insurance of New York

Celebrate the Lunar New Year on Sunday, February 5th as the New York Knicks take on the Houston Rockets on Asian Heritage Day presented by Allianz Life Insurance Company of New York. Game time is 12:00 pm for this nationally televised matchup between the New York Knicks, featuring Stephon Marbury and Eddy Curry, and the Houston Rockets, featuring Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming!

  • Sony Music International recording artist Jake Shimabukuro performs the National Anthem.
  • Giveaways presented by Allianz Life include blue pom poms, pinwheels and lighted key chains (while supplies last!)
  • Taikoza - Japanese drummers will perform on the Mall outside the Arena Box Office pre-game.
  • A traditional Chinese Lion Dance from the New York Chinese Cultural Center will be performed as part of the in-arena entertainment.
  • The Kinding Sindaw Filipino dance, music, and martial arts ensemble will perform as part of the in-arena entertainment.
  • Dancers from the NY Chinese Cultural Center will perform a traditional Chinese ribbon folk dance for halftime.
  • The Knicks City Dancers and Knicks City Kids will each perform a routine to an Asian-themed song.
