Knicks Name Joe Favorito as VP, Public Relations

New York (November 6, 2001) - Steve Mills, Madison Square Garden President, Sports Team Operations, announced today that Joe Favorito has joined the New York Knicks as the team's new Vice President, Public Relations. Additionally, Jonathan Supranowitz, currently the team's Manager, Media Services, has been promoted to Director, Media Relations.

In his role as Vice President, Public Relations, Mr. Favorito will be responsible for all aspects of communications for the team, including day to day media interaction; team publicity, game day media operations and team publications. He will also serve as team spokesperson.

Mr. Favorito comes to the Knicks with a distinguished career in sports communications, holding senior public relations positions in a variety of sports organizations, including Fordham University, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Women's Tennis Association, and, most recently, the United States Tennis Association. He received his B.A. from Fordham University.

"Joe is a seasoned public relations executive who will bring immeasurable expertise and leadership to our communications team at the Knicks," said Mills. "We are confident that he will ensure that we provide first-class service to the myriad of media outlets who have an interest in the Knicks."

In his new capacity as Director, Media Relations, Mr. Supranowitz will travel with the team as the public relations representative, serve as primary contact for the media covering the team on a daily basis, and be responsible for press releases, the media guide, game program, training camp guide, post-season guide and game notes. Mr. Supranowitz received his B.A. from Brooklyn College. Mr. Supranowitz, as well as current Director of Publicity Dan Schoenberg, will work closely with Mr. Favorito on all facets of the Knicks' communications efforts.
