Take a look at highlights of the 2004 Entertainer's Basketball Classic at Rucker Park with NBA Inside Ticket and see coverage of last year's EBC on NYKnicks.com.
| Week 1: Opening Night Opening night at the EBC is famous for the star power it produces and this summer was no different. Washington Wizard, Gilbert Arenas and Hip-Hop artist "The Game" were the main attractions on opening night. Other NBA stars were on hand including New Orleans Hornets Guard J.R. Smith and Memphis Grizzlies Guard/Forward Dahntay Jones. EBC stars were on hand as well including The Bone Collector, Alymoe, The Best Kept Secret, Cross-Country, and Homicide as well as the three-peating coaching tandem of Fat Joe and Mousy. |
Week 2: Just another fly night at the EBC I can't believe it's not Rucker; indoors, in the Gaucho's Gym and out of the Park-ay, the Entertainers' Basketball Classic is just as slammin'-- especially with Adrian "A. Butter" Walton doing his smooth thing on the very same hardwood where he once lit up Vince Carter for 32 points. But the slammin' is done in a somewhat different fashion. |
| Week 3: Nothin' Tops This Slam Dunks. No-look passes. Insane ball-handling. Week three at Rucker Park feautres some of the hottest moves you've ever seen. |
Week 4: Just a walk in the Park Jamaal Tinsley grew up playing in New York City's Rucker League, so it was no surprise when he came back to visit in week 4. Detroit Pistons guard Horace Jenkins dropped 27 points for his team OMAVI as they defeated Kennedy Center. |
| Week 5: Back to the Future The park was filled with true EBC legends this week including "The Future" and "The Birdman". Other ballers decided to drop by including Karl Krauser of the University of Pittsburgh and St. John's Jermaine Maybank. Oh yeah - and guess who decided to take a break from the And 1 Mixtape Tour...none other than "The Main Event"! |
Week 6: The Don Plays Simply Like a Diva Rucker Park favorites, Don Diva always put on a show. When you have talented ballers such as the Bone Collector, Homicide, and Skywalker it is safe to say the crowd will be satisfied. On top of that, this crew of talent has posted a record of 4-1 in the first 5 weeks with their only loss coming on opening night against an NBA filled roster provided by the Ruff Ryders. Can Don Diva extend their winning streak to 5 games? |
| Week 7: New York Basketball is Back! Basketball is a team sport but at the Rucker we can occasionally forget about all of that. The EBC is all about matchups and week 7 featured three one-on-one matchups that would make a true baller's mouth water. The first game featured Terror Squad's Captain, Kareem Reid, facing off against Keydrey Clark and J Records. The night game featured a matchup of the best duos in the the EBC. D Band's Antifreeze and A-Butta faced off against the always dangerous Don Diva led by Bone Collector and Homicide. |
More Week 7: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Next week may mark the beginning of the playoffs but first we have to finish up the regular season. Tonight's games included a matchup between former Seattle Supersonic and UNC Guard Joe Forte and a shockingly mature combo guard from The Gauchos and Rice High School who played in the 14-and-under tournament just a couple of years back by the name of "Little Kash". Guess who comes out on top! |
| Week 8: The NBA vs. The EBC NBA stars Jason Terry and Jamaal Tinsley made a stop up in Harlem to help BMC make a final Playoff push. However, D Band fielded a team full of New York Street Ballers hoping to prove that NBA stars shouldn't bring their game to the streets if they don't expect to bring it all. |
Playoffs: Entertainers’ Basketball Classic. Yum. Customarily we loath to pile on the superlatives but…this Certified versus Black Wall Street first-round tussle was the best -- not to mention highest quality, longest, and most exciting -- game EBC has given its adoring fans in years. |
| Championships: Black Wall Street Cashes In Black Wall Street got past 3-time champions Terror Squad in the semi-finals and cashed in all their chips in the championship game, a thrilling overtime contest against D Band. |
Celebrity All-Star Game The Entertainers Basketball Classic brought their best to The Garden for a star-studded throw down. |
| EBC America Championships: NBA Trumps NYC A Los Angeles group of EBC All-Stars, including Gilbert Arenas, J.R. Smith, and The Bone Collector, brought down the curtain on Summer 2005 by shutting down the New York All-Stars late in the fourth quarter. |
