2011-2012 Knicks Schedule Announced

NEW YORK, July 19, 2011 - The New York Knickerbockers will open the team's 66th season of NBA basketball on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Madison Square Garden, facing the Eastern Conference-rival Miami Heat at 8:00 p.m.

New York's regular season home schedule is highlighted by a visit from the World Champion Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, Feb. 19 and a second visit by the Eastern Conference Champion Miami Heat on Sunday, Apr. 15. Special holiday home games include a Christmas Day game versus the Boston Celtics on Sunday, Dec. 25 and the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day game versus the Sacramento Kings on Monday, Jan. 16. The team will play a total of six afternoon games at home.

Prior to the 82-game regular season, New York will participate in eight preseason games, including three at Madison Square Garden. The preseason schedule will be released at a later time. MSG Network, television home of the New York Knickerbockers, will telecast 72 regular season games, and all eight preseason games.

This fall, the lower bowl of Madison Square Garden will be completely transformed, including an expanded Madison Concourse (sixth floor) with new food and beverage options and city views, new lower bowl seating area, new Event Level Suites and Delta SKY360 Club, and new locker rooms. Work on the Madison Square Garden Transformation will continue to be a year-round project, with the majority of construction taking place during three summers (2011, 2012, and 2013) when the building will be shutdown.
