New York Knicks Host "2010 @thenyknicks TWEET UP" Presented by @DiscountTire on Saturday, February 27

New York, NY, February 24, 2010 – The New York Knickerbockers announced today that they will host the "2010 @thenyknicks Tweet Up" presented by @DiscountTire on Saturday, Feb. 27 when the Knicks take on the Memphis Grizzlies. This is the Knicks first Tweet Up event for fans, and the first sports industry Tweet Up event to feature an interactive panel of social media experts.

"We are excited to be hosting this groundbreaking event, bringing together Knicks fans and leaders of the social media industry," said Howard Jacobs, senior vice president of marketing and ticket sales, MSG Sports. "The Knicks Tweet Up is an opportunity for fans to gain behind the scenes access to the team combined with unique interaction with some of the individuals that are shaping the social media landscape."

A special pregame panel will feature top names in social media discussing the hot topics of the industry. The panel will be streamed live on UStream, and attendees and fans can tweet their questions for the panelists using hashtag #NYKTweetup during the panel. Tickets for the "2010 @thenyknicks Tweet Up" are $40 each and include admission to the pregame panel discussion, access to the Knicks and Grizzlies pregame warm-ups, a game ticket in the specially designated "Tweep Zone", official "Declare Your Following" Knicks Tweet Up T-shirt, and post-game meet and greet with forward Wilson Chandler. Throughout the Knicks-Grizzlies game fans in-arena will be able to Tweet comments to the center-hung scoreboard GardenVision.
