Prospect Profile: Ben Uzoh

In the days leading up to the NBA Draft, NYKnicks.com will look at the players brought in by the Knicks for Predraft Workouts. A player's inclusion in this series of articles does not necessarily reflect the Knicks organization's preferences for the June 24 Draft at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

We continue our series with a profile of Tulsa guard Ben Uzoh.
Two years ago, an unpolished yet ultra-athletic young guard named Russell Westbrook skyrocketed up the draft charts as scouts fell in the love with his raw talent and potential. While he may not go as high as fourth overall like Westbrook did, Ben Uzoh is beginning to show the same flashes that wowed NBA minds two years ago.

A 6-foot-3, 200-pound combo guard out of Tulsa, Uzoh is an explosive athletic player with incredible hops and a flair for the dramatic. Blessed with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, Uzoh is lethal both with the ball and without it. Whenever he has it in his hands, however, the fans in the stands are on edge waiting to see what he will do next, and more often than not, he delivers.

As a senior, Uzoh averaged 15.3 points, 4.7 assists and 4.7 boards. He is capable of filling up the stat line on any given night and flirted with a triple-double on multiple occasions throughout the season. His best game arguably came against Memphis when he notched a season-high 10 assists along with 20 points and eight boards.

Uzoh is a true gamer who fights hard and gives his all on both ends of the floor. While many scouts believe he needs to improve his basketball IQ as well as his range, he has a solid foundation to make it in the NBA.
