Knicks Select Michigan Star Cazzie Russell No. 1 Overall

(1966) Knicks select Michigan forward Cazzie Russell with the number one pick in the 1966 NBA Draft.

(1984) Knicks force a Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, defeating Boston 106-104 at the Garden, behind Bernard King’s 44 points. New York holds on to the victory after watching Boston cut a 13-point deficit to two with :28 to play and then miss several attempts at tying the game in the final seconds.

(1994) Knicks grab a 2-0 series lead over the Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference Semifinals with a 96-91 win at Madison Square Garden. New York held the Bulls to 4-16 shooting in the fourth quarter. Patrick Ewing scores a game high 26 points.

(1997) Knicks put on a vintage defensive performance In Game Three of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, holding Miami to just 73 points in 77-73 victory at Madison Square Garden for a 2-1 series lead. 

(2011) Landry Fields is named to the First Team NBA All-Rookie team, becoming first second-round pick to earn the honors in the year that he was drafted since Miami’s Sherman Douglas in 1989-90.
