(1920) Red Holzman born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
(1965) John Starks born in Tulsa, OK.
(1970) Joe Lapchick, who accumulated a record of 326-247 over nine seasons as Knicks head coach, passes away at the age of 70. He recorded the second most wins in Knickerbocker history.
(2001) Knicks acquire forward Shandon Anderson from Houston and guard Howard Eisley from Dallas, in exchange for forward Glen Rice (to Rockets) and Muggsy Bogues (to Dallas).
(2010) Knicks sign guard Roger Mason, Jr.
