Thanksgiving ‘Day of Giving’ Event

On Saturday, November 17th, Ronnie Brewer, Raymond Felton, Kurt Thomas, Marcus Camby and Rasheed Wallace along with the New York Knicks and Garden of Dreams Foundation, hosted a Thanksgiving “Day of Giving” with children and their families from the Children’s Aid Society, a partner organization of the Garden of Dreams Foundation. Knicks Legend, Cal Ramsey and Liberty Alum, Kym Hampton and Councilwoman Dickens came out to support the event by helping hand out meals to the families. The foundation’s mission is to make dreams come true for kids - and on this “Day of Giving” the Knicks ensured that 350 families including some affected by hurricane sandy would have complete meals for Thanksgiving,  including vegetables, stuffing, a pie  and of course,  the centerpiece turkey.  While they picked up their meals, the families warmed up with hot chocolate and cookies – and enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and interact with their Knicks Heroes.
