Knicks Poetry Slam "Poetry Playoffs" at Nike Stadium

For the first time in Knicks Poetry Slam history, the program's semifinal competitions were held at Nike Stadium in Manhattan. On December 10th, 11th, and 12th, more than 60 students competed for the chance to advance to the Poetry Slam Finals that will be held on Broadway. On the second night of competition, Amar'e Stoudemire made a surprise visit to encourage the students in attendance to work hard and follow their dreams. The top 3 poets from the 3 nights of competition advanced to the finals, while the 4th and 5th place winners advanced to the Digital Poet Competition that will start on January 1st 2011 on www.knickspoetryslam.com.
