Garden Of Dreams Foundation

Since its inception in 1998, Madison Square Garden has joined with the non-profit Cheering for Children Foundation to make a difference in the lives of thousands of children, thanks to the generous support of people like you throughout the community.

This fall, the Foundation is dedicated to fulfilling its mission of helping children in our area as a public charity with a new, expanded focus, and we hope that you will continue to support our efforts with your generosity. Under a new name, "Garden of Dreams," the Foundation is committed to helping children in crisis in the tri-state area, whether they are suffering from devastating illness, homelessness, abuse, hunger, extreme poverty or tragedy. Garden of Dreams will work closely with all areas of Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall to build meaningful, unforgettable programs for children affiliated with local children’s hospitals, "wish" organizations; community based organizations serving children in crisis, as well as the Starlight/Starbright Foundation.

The Foundation''s website www.gardenofdreamsfoundation.org will go live in October and provide information about this important new initiative.

We truly believe that Madison Square Garden and Garden of Dreams can help make dreams come true for children facing enormous suffering and tremendous obstacles. We thank you for your generosity throughout the years, and look forward to keeping you apprised of the ways in which Garden of Dreams will work tirelessly to brighten the lives of children in crisis in the future. For those of you that have contributed to this Foundation in the past, we sincerely hope that you will consider supporting its new efforts with the same generosity and enthusiasm you have shown in the past.

The New York Knicks will work closely with the Garden of Dreams Foundation to focus community efforts on assisting children in crisis during the 2006-07 season. During the year, the Knicks will ask all fans to support two major in-arena drives targeting the Garden of Dreams community, including a major food drive in the fall and a toy drive in the spring. In partnership with City Harvest, collected food will be directed to organizations working to confront children’s hunger, while toys will be directed to children in local area hospitals. During the “Weeks of Giving” that will surround the in-arena drives, Knicks players will deliver donated items to agencies serving children and host celebrations for several hundred young people from the affected communities.
