-- Fans are encouraged to join Head Coach Keith Smart at one of Sacramento’s hottest new restaurants as the Kings learn what selection team will have in the 2012 NBA Draft --
SACRAMENTO, CALIF., May 29, 2012 -- The Sacramento Kings announced today plans to host a “Defy the Odds” Draft Lottery Party on Wednesday, May 30 at Firestone Public House on 16th Street in Sacramento.
“We’d like to see Kings fans from throughout the region join us for this exciting event,” said Head Coach Keith Smart. “Our recent lottery selections have produced some of the best young talent in the NBA, and another high pick this year will offer an opportunity to continue building our nucleus.”
The viewing party is free to the public and begins at 4 p.m., followed by a live ESPN telecast of the NBA Draft Lottery scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. Prizes will be distributed throughout the evening, highlighted by a trip to the Las Vegas Summer League, autographed merchandise and concert tickets to upcoming shows at Power Balance Pavilion. The Sacramento Kings Dancers, Kings emcees and Slamson will be in attendance to entertain fans.
According to mathematical probabilities, the Kings have a 7.6 percent chance of drawing the No. 1 overall selection, a 25.3 percent likelihood of moving into the top-3 and are currently slotted fifth based on last season’s standings* (Sacramento won a coin-flip tiebreaker with New Jersey after both teams finished the 2011-12 campaign with identical records).
Additionally, fans are poised to enjoy unprecedented savings on 2012-13 season tickets based on the Kings “Defy the Odds” Draft Lottery promotion. Should the team win one of the coveted top-3 positions in this year’s draft, season tickets in designated lower and upper level locations will be offered at 50 percent off their original prices, currently $75 and $36.50 each respectively. If the team nets a pick in the 5-8 range, fans will earn a 35 percent discount.
In either scenario, the “Defy the Odds” promotion offers the most discounted price for a lower level season ticket in Kings history.
Fans are encouraged to take advantage of this offer today by placing a $100 per seat deposit, to be credited towards their season ticket purchase following lottery results and seat selection process. This offer expires at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon prior to the Draft Lottery telecast.
