Power Balance Pavilion To Host 2013 CIF NorCal Regional Basketball Championship Tournament
-- Agreement extends venue’s 26-year history as host site for CIF Regional and State hoops tournaments --
SACRAMENTO, CALIF., May 14, 2012 -- Maloof Sports and Entertainment announced today that Power Balance Pavilion will once again play host to the CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) NorCal Regional Basketball Championship Tournament in 2013, continuing its long-standing tradition of showcasing championship-caliber high school basketball in Sacramento.
“The CIF is excited to host the NorCal Basketball Regionals for the 13th year at Power Balance Pavilion,” said CIF Associate Executive Director Roger Blake. “We appreciate Maloof Sports and Entertainment’s continued commitment to high school athletics.”
First selected as a host venue for the 1992 CIF State Championships, the site has since welcomed thousands of athletes hoping to leave the Capital City with a title in hand. Noteworthy alums that have showcased their talents as preps on the Power Balance hardwood include NBA pros Jason Kidd, Jeremy Linn, Tayshaun Prince, Jrue Holiday and the Kings own Chuck Hayes.
The NorCal Regionals will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Additionally, Power Balance Pavilion will also host the CIF State Basketball Championships through the 2015 season.
