Kings Announce Inaugural Spring Benefit Concert Featuring Grammy Award-Winning Band Blues Traveler

SACRAMENTO, CALIF., Apr. 12, 2012 -- The Sacramento Kings today announced the team will host its inaugural spring benefit concert at Power Balance Pavilion on Friday, April 27 headlined by Grammy Award-winning band Blues Traveler.

Known worldwide for a folk rock and soul-inspired sound responsible for catchy singles such as “But Anyway”, “Run-Around” and “Hook”, Blues Traveler has entertained audiences for the past 25 years, playing more than 2,000 shows before three million spectators.

All proceeds from the event will benefit The Sacramento Kings Foundation, from which funds will be distributed to a charity in each of the organization’s focused areas of giving: At-risk and underprivileged youth, community development, education and health and wellness. Beneficiary agencies include the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Sacramento Reads, St. John’s Shelter, Wind Youth Services and CCHAT (Children’s Choice for Hearing and Talking). Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento will also receive revenue generated by silent and live auctions held throughout the evening.
