SACRAMENTO, CALIF., June 3, 2013 – The Sacramento Kings have partnered with the City of Sacramento and other local businesses and civic organizations to "Rebuild McKinley," a weeklong project to create a state-of-the-art playground with features reminiscent of Sacramento's past and present.

Kings great Bobby Jackson will be on-hand with team staff volunteers on Tuesday, June 4 at 12:30 p.m., helping construct a distinctive playground designed to reflect the history and sense of place unique to its East Sacramento surroundings. In this spirit, the completed project will include several localized details, such as a trolley, architectural elements evocative of the Alhambra theatre and natural additions of stones and logs.

"The Rebuild McKinley effort is another testament to the unwavering spirit of the city of Sacramento," said Kings President of Business Operations Matina Kolokotronis. "On behalf of the entire organization, we're honored to participate in a venture that helps enhance civic pride while providing children and families a recreational gem. During this endeavor and more to come, the Kings are dedicated through our Project Assist initiatives to rallying around philanthropic ideals of charitable giving, volunteerism, issue awareness and supporting our region's youth."
