Sacramento Kings Announce New Additions to Business Operations Team
Sacramento, Calif. – The Sacramento Kings today announced two additions to the business operations staff: Juan Rodriguez will serve as general manager and senior vice president of arena operations, and Colin Twomey will serve as director of business strategy.
With over 20 years of experience in launching and managing sports and entertainment venues across the country, Juan Rodriguez joins the Kings as general manager and senior vice president of arena operations. Rodriguez will provide leadership and oversee facility event operations, production, guest services, booking, event security, event staffing, facility presentation, janitorial, and food and beverage services of Sleep Train Arena. Additionally, Rodriguez will direct planning and securing of resources for a successful transition to the new Entertainment and Sports Center (ESC) set to open in October 2016. Prior, Rodriguez served as assistant general manager at NRG Park Complex (Houston, Texas) since 2006, where he had previously served as director of event services and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator. Rodriguez served as director of event services and ADA coordinator for Bank Atlantic Center (Sunrise, Fla.) and as event services coordinator at Miami Arena (Miami, Fla.).
Colin Twomey joins the Kings as director of business strategy. Twomey will provide strategic direction and spearhead special projects for marketing, customer analytics and business operations. Twomey brings experience from both inside and outside of sports, including time spent at the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the Team Marketing and Business Operations (TMBO) group. Previously, he served as manager of database marketing at Hotwire.com and as a business analyst at McKinsey & Company. Twomey received his Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
