SACRAMENTO, CA, September 16, 2010 -- The Sacramento Kings and community leaders today unveiled the team’s 2010-11 campaign – “Here We Rise.”
“This is an exciting day for the Kings and the community,” said Joe and Gavin Maloof, co-owners of the Kings. “Hope and optimism surround this city and this year’s Kings. We’re proud to watch this young team and this wonderful community rise together.”
The official launch began with the placement of a massive “Here We Rise” super banner -- the largest building wrap in the history of Sacramento -- on the side of the CalSTRS building near downtown. The new, state-of-the-art building is extremely visible to travelers along Interstate 5 and serves as a gateway to the city of Sacramento.
The message of “Here We Rise” was developed in recognition of the growth of the new-look Kings and the optimism resonating throughout the Sacramento community.
"Here We Rise signifies a new era of Kings basketball, one that brings the community and fans together to fuel a young and exciting brand of basketball in the Capital City,” said Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson. “Building on the momentum of having the League's best rookie last season, combined with a talented new crop of players this season, I look forward to joining Sacramento in cheering on our new-look Kings."
The “Here We Rise” logo includes a dynamic font that reflects a rise from bottom to top and showcases the iconic Tower Bridge – a recognized symbol of Sacramento.
TV, radio, print, outdoor and online media will support the campaign throughout the season, as well as the interactive online site HereWeRise.com, which also launched today. Kings fans on Twitter are encouraged to use the hashtag #HereWeRise on their Kings tweets throughout the season to recognize the rise of the team and the community.
In addition, to celebrate the launch of this exciting campaign, the Kings are offering fans the Here We Rise Full Season Pass for just $440 – the lowest-price full season pass in team history.
