The Kings closed out the 2007-08 regular season the same way they began it -- playing hard and together. Sacramento's first season under Coach Reggie Theus' direction was an example of how those two principles can lead to success even when the odds aren't in a team's favor. As every season in professional sports has, the Kings campaign had ebbs and flows, but through it all the team remained united and upset more than a handful of the League's elite. Before Theus and the players took off for the summer, Kings.com caught up with the team to get its reflections on the season that was defined by TRUST -- TEAM, RESPECT, URGENCY, SACRIFICE and TOUGHNESS.

How would you describe your evolution as a point guard this season?
“I was waiting for my opportunity for three years, so here in Sacramento, they gave me that opportunity. I’m happy I have been able to show my ability here, to play hard and play the way I play. When I got the opportunity, I said to myself that I just had to go out there and play hard. That’s what I tried to do this season. As long as I’m going to play basketball, I’m going to play as hard as I can.”
How would you characterize the team's play this season?
“We had a couple issues with injuries. Kevin was hurt. Mike was hurting at the beginning of the year. Mike got traded and we got a few new guys. Ron was hurt. I think that hurt us a little bit. In the beginning of the year, I basically didn’t practice because I wasn’t here for training camp. So we couldn’t really get to know each other with the way we play. We were struggling in the beginning.”
How do you think the season played out in spite of all the injuries?
“I think it went pretty well. We lost a couple games that we’re supposed to win, but you can’t really say anything about that because it’s over and you can’t do anything about that. It could've been better, but it could've been worse.”
What game was most memorable for you?
“Definitely the game against Miami when we were down 23 in front of the home crowd. We stepped up together in the second half and we won that game. That was really good. And then of course, wins against teams like San Antonio, Houston, New Orleans and Utah all at home, those games were great too.”
What is something about this team that may surprise Kings fans?
“We get along together and joke around in the locker room. Everything is cool. We have no issues with each other. When we’re out there we just play hard and stick together.”
