
SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – The Sacramento Kings today signed a pair of free agents, guard Eugene “Pooh” Jeter and center Justin Williams to contracts, it was announced by Kings President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie. Per club policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
Jeter averaged 8.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in five games for the Kings in the 2006 Las Vegas Summer League. The 5-11, 175-pound guard averaged 14.9 points, 3.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals through 115 games over his four-year career at the University of Portland. He averaged 18.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 29 games as a senior.
Williams, a 6-10, 225-pound center, averaged 5.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in five games for the Kings in the 2006 Las Vegas Summer League. He averaged 10.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 8.1 blocks in 58 games over his two-year career at the University of Wyoming. Williams started his collegiate career at Colby Community College, where he averaged 12.5 points, 9.7 rebounds and 4.3 blocks in 63 games.
The 2009 Kings Summer League team takes on the Detroit Pistons today at 3 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion.
