On-Court Emcee
From his beginnings at Sesame Street Place in Philadelphia, PA. Mike always dreamed of entertaining people in one way, shape or form. He attended the University of Tennessee where he was "Smokey" the college mascot and yes, he did acquire a degree. His path then led him through minor league baseball, hockey and then to California in 1993 as an intern for the Kings. "When I walked into ARCO Arena for the first time suitcases in hand ...no lie," says Mike "I knew I was in the right place." Wearing holes out in his penny loafers during his internship he never imagined what he would end up doing five years later ........actually being the emcee for the arena. Here are some other things he has done while under our roof.

Mike has gotten to do a lot of amazing events from his days as an intern. He has been lucky to work with everyone from Al Pacino to the Olsen twins. To this day he swears walking out on the court to a live frenzied Kings crowd is an electrifying experience each and every time. He considers himself one of the luckiest people on the planet ! In his terms, simply put, "ARCO rules and the fans by far are simply the best across the board, I don't care what sport you look at! It's like a big loud family getting together at the arena for every Kings game, except I refuse to do the dishes !" Well said Mike!
