Kings win 115-98
Box Score | NBA Recap

On team's strong play of late:
“In the locker room I just wanted to try to tell the guys to just lock in on why we’ve been playing good basketball – that’s because we’ve been playing hard, we’ve been rebounding the basketball and we’ve been sharing the basketball – it’s been nice to watch. I thought it was nice to see all of the young guys get in and play some real minutes; it might’ve been a little early on my part but I had confidence and they held up their end.”
On injury to Kevin Martin:
“I don’t know because I haven’t talked to Pete (Youngman) yet. It was a bad fall; it was an awkward fall. I think he came down on that leg, on that foot that just really couldn’t support him – that’s what it looked like to me from where I was standing.”
On Bobby Jackson:
“I really think that we all know that Bobby (Jackson) is great at diving on the floor and hustling. It shows what kind of character he has.”

On tonight's rebounding edge:
“I think it is always a point of emphasis, especially against a team like Golden State, to grab rebounds and crash the boards so hard. I think that we did a good job of that tonight (Kings 50, Warriors 45). That’s always a positive when you can come out on top there.”
On playing unselfishly:
“It’s night and day. We are like two different teams when we play unselfishly versus how we started the year out. You can feel it building from how the team was at the beginning of the game to the end of the game. We knew that we had a chance to come home and ride the ship one game at a time and that’s what we have been able to do. We have to stick with that mindset as we prepare for Detroit and that’s what we are focused on right now.”
On Kevin leaving the game in the third quarter:
“I just saw him twist his ankle, but someone said he hurt his head too. He said everything feels good, so that’s a positive that he is here and I saw him walking around so that is good.”

On Kings-Warriors Rivalry: “They have had some success the last couple of years, when we used to go down there (Oakland) when I first got here, 85% percent would be Kings fans and now the past couple of years it has been about 60-70% Warriors fans are here at our home games. When you are that close, you obviously want to get those wins as much as you can.”
On picking up first win in road uniforms:
“Tonight we brought out the “purples” and we can win in these. First win in these (uniforms) all year.”
On Kevin leaving the game in the third quarter:
“We have other guys that can step up, obviously we don’t want to see Kevin go down like that, but we responded and tightened up and played some really good defense in the third quarter and kept focused.”

On winning tonight against the Warriors: “It was real big, coach said that we have to take it one game at a time and get to .500. As long as we keep sharing the ball and playing defense, we can get there. We had energy from the beginning to the end. As long as we can share the ball we will be alright.”

Head Coach Don Nelson
On playing behind most of the game:
“Long day at the office. I thought the third quarter was our worst and we lost it right there. I wasn’t very happy with the way our young guys played today. I guess we should expect that on occasions. They did not follow the game plan and lost their concentration. Those are things young players will do. Mainly defensively, I expect them to know the game plan and follow it. The more they play, the faster they will pick those things up. The veterans did, the young guys didn’t.”
On Stephen Jackson being double-teamed:
“We would expect that is going to happen. When you’re limited as far as your smart players go, that is a smart thing to do. When that happens, someone has to step up. Whether it is make the proper pass or to deliver, someone has to help out.”

Stephen Jackson
On being double-teamed: “We are a wounded team right now. I have been getting doubled as the season started, more since guys got hurt and are not on the floor. Teams will keep doing that until we find a way to counter it. I can’t be frustrated right now because it can be a domino effect for the whole team. I am just trying to stay positive right now. I got to keep these guys working. The young guys feed off my energy so I have to go out and play well.”
On Warriors youth: “We are the youngest team in the league. The best thing I can do is go out everyday and support my young guys. Nobody said it was going to be easy and all we can do is go out and work. I am not worried about them.”

DeMarcus Nelson
On playing in his hometown: “I had a lot of friends and family here, but my task coming in here was to win and we didn’t do that. I wasn’t nervous though. It is just another game for me.”
On playing against close friend Bobby Jackson:
“That’s my guy. He has been my mentor my whole life. He is one of the reasons I am here. Playing against him was fun. I was glad to be out there with him. I am just blessed to be here.”
