What Brown Can Do for the Kings

In Part 2 of Kings.com's exclusive Q&A with Bobby Brown, the point guard discusses his goals for the upcoming season, his role, his new teammates and much more.

You averaged 16.7 points, 4.4 assists and 2.7 rebounds at Cal-State Fullerton, how would you characterize your four years there?
"My four years were fun. I got to play a lot. I got a lot of guys I grew up with to come to the school and help me out, so it was fun."

What did it mean to you to leave school as the all-time leading scorer?
"It meant a lot because there are a lot of great players that came out of there -- Leon Wood, Pape Snow, guys like that. So coming out as the all-time leading scorer was a big achievement for me, and I wouldn't have been able to do it without my coach and my teammates."

What is your goal heading into training camp and the upcoming season?
"My goal going in is to be the best teammate that I can be, contribute any way I need to and be a competitor, compete every day in practice and training camp and try to gain more minutes playing a competitive game, bringing energy and being a great locker room guy and a great all-around team guy, try to win games and try to go to the Western Conference Playoffs and win everything. So my goal is to win. I want to win."

Can you give us a scouting report on your game?
"I'm an explosive, athletic guard, who can score and get people involved. My specialty is, if I can get in the lane, I might throw down a nice athletic play, like dunking or a nice lay up or something like that. But I would describe my game as being a floor general, and a scorer when needed."

Are you familiar with any of your new teammates?
"I know Quincy Douby, Mikki Moore and Jason Thompson, those are the only three guys I know. And Brad Miller, but I don't really know him, he's with my agency."

You wore jersey numbers 2 and 3 in college, what number will you be wearing for the Kings?
"I picked number 5. It was the lowest number available that I liked, and I grew up playing with that number when I was younger, so I went back to it."

What are your thoughts on your newly acquired teammates -- Bobby Jackson and Donté Greene?
"I think they are a great pickup for us. Bobby Jackson is a veteran and I can learn under him too. And Donté Green is a great shooter and scorer too -- I saw him play in college when I was over in Germany. So they are two great assets to the team and we'll gel together, move on and win some games."

What would you like to say to Kings fans?
"I can't wait to see you all rooting us on. I really like fans and they get to me, so I can't wait to play in the atmosphere at ARCO Arena, and we're going to win games this year."
