Your Sacramento Kings will certainly be doing that this season as they unveiled their new, fashionable uniforms at a “Meet the Kings” event inside Arden Fair Mall in late September.

In front of hundreds of loyal and loud Kings fans, Kings players Francisco Garcia, Beno Udrih and Jason Thompson proudly showcased the Kings threads and got Kings fans pumped up for the upcoming season.

“They’re real nice,” said Thompson, referring to his team’s new look. “I like the new style to it. Actually, my first authentic jersey was a Chris Webber jersey. It’s kind of crazy, the next thing you know I get drafted by the Kings. I like how it fits, it fits real tight.”

Based on feedback from the Kings loyal fans, the team incorporated as much black into the new uniforms as possible while still retaining the Kings identity.

The most significant part of the uniform change is a shift from a traditional side insert to a more fashionable look with four points of an insert on each side and half of the body. As opposed to the previous uniform, “KINGS” now adorns the road uniform and “SACRAMENTO” is displayed on the home whites.

With a fresh look, the players weren’t the only ones enjoying the new style.

“The new uniform is awesome, I like it because it looks clean,” shared Phillip, a loyal Kings fan from Galt.

“I really like them, they’re interesting,” said Hector, a 10-year Kings fan. “I especially like the home jerseys, saying ‘Sacramento,’ and the away jerseys saying ‘Kings’.”

As fans were treated to special performances by the Sacramento Kings Dance Team, Slamson and Sacramento Breakers, the players took pictures, signed autographs and shared their excitement for the upcoming season with their loyal supporters.

“(Everything happening in Sacramento) is very exciting,” said Udrih. “I feel really great. We have a good team going on. We’re young, with a lot of talent and potential, so we’re definitely going to go out there, give 100 percent and try to win a lot of games.”

“Being a new part of a young team, I feel like we have a good opportunity this year,” said Thompson. “I’m excited, I’m from the East Coast and getting used to the West. We’re ready to go this year.”
