Is this your full-time job: Physically and mentally…YES! I put a lot of time and effort into what I do for the Kings. I work and teach at a dance studio on the side, but still, a majority of my time goes towards the Kings. There are practices, work out time, appearances, games and individual time that goes into what we do. So, I guess you could say it’s a full-time commitment.
Career goal: I aspire to own my own dance studio so I can share my passion with those looking and wanting to be the best. Although, after recently giving my mom a makeover, I was intrigued at the thought of becoming a makeup artist or esthetician.
Favorite Restaurant in Sacramento: Mikunis Sushi… mmm!!! :-)
Favorite thing to do in Sacramento:
Well, my first favorite thing would be to perform at ARCO Arena in front of all the fans on a game night. Then, my second would be going out to dinner and enjoying some yummy food with some good friends or good company, having a good laugh and enjoying a “night off.”
What are you passions in life:
I have a passion for always striving to bring out the best in myself and others. Dancing will forever be a passion of mine, but I have a passion for life, new adventures and the people in my life. And, for those who know me best, they know I have a passion for simply wanting to be, have and bring… happiness.
Favorite TV show:
So You Think You Can Dance, The Bachelor and Project Runway, of course!
Favorite vacation spot:
Anywhere I can be in my swim suit and sip a pina colada with good company by my side. Preferably to have the sound of ocean waves in the distance, but I haven’t been to Fiji, the Caribbean or some private tropical island, so I can’t say I’ve found my favorite spot just yet!
Favorite movie:
I’m kind of a movie buff, but a good comedy that makes me laugh can be a favorite. For example: Wedding Crashers, Shrek, 40 Year Old Virgin, Old School, Dumb and Dumber…you get the idea!
Favorite song:
Currently, anything by Justin Timberlake. He has some really good music that can really make me smile!
The people you admire most:
People who have overcome hardships and fought their way through diverse obstacles without ever giving up. I admire the brave, the courageous and the one’s willing to sacrifice in order to make good out of a situation. The ones I admire the most are the ones closest in my life.
Favorite SKDT Dance Routine:
Okay… I’ve been thinking about this question for a while…and I just can’t answer it. “Seriously”…haha…we’ve done sooo many fun routines, and a lot of them have been my favorite. I’ve gotten a ‘spark’ out of every routine I’ve done, and found the best in each dance I’ve danced.
One thing people do not know about the SKDT:
We’re all just a bunch of NERDS! We are one of the goofiest, craziest groups of girls you could meet. We’re all different in every way, but all carry the same passion for what we do, which unites us. But, catch us in the locker room before a game, or one night at a practice, and you’ll see the ‘kid’ in us all!
Favorite thing about Kings Fans:
What I love and admire the most about our fans is how much they truly care about the Kings. Each time I get to meet our fans in the community or at a game, they’re all so nice, and I feel that energy and excitement that’s brought to ARCO Arena each game. Our fans are very important, and whether I’m delivering a birthday bag during a game or signing a poster for a fan or their loved one, I love being able to meet new people and strike up a conversation with them. When the fans are loud and full of electricity, it gives me a charge, lights up my smile and keeps my energy going throughout the game.
Favorite memory from your time as a member of the SKDT:
I’ve experienced many memories, and have many favorites, but I just told someone this one the other day. I had the opportunity to go to China twice, once for the NBA games and once to represent the Kings in the NBA Jam Van Tour. We had a crazy time (the humidity was nuts), but it was incredible to be able to perform in another country and learn about their culture.
What does Passion 4 Purple mean to you?:
Well, not only does the color purple stand out every time I go shopping now, but it’s deeper than a color. When I see one of the colors of the Kings, I see the fans, I see excitement and I see the passion people have to offer ARCO Arena! We have embraced the colors like we have embraced the team, and with this passion we can help cheer our team to a victory every time.
What are you looking forward to during the 2006-07 Kings season?:
I’m looking forward to being the best that I can be this year. As you know, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” so I’m looking forward to having fun and creating new energy this season.
