Sacramento Kings players Francisco Garcia and Bobby Brown came out and lent a helping hand in making the kids at WIND Youth Services have a Thanksgiving meal they will never forget.
The players made a surprise visit to interact and serve a full Thanksgiving meal to the youth that are served by the facility.
“Coming from a poor country, it feels great,” said Francisco Garcia. “Going out and serving food is kind of touching to me, because every time I go back to my country I do the same thing! The kids make my day.”
The WIND Youth Services is a local non-profit agency that was established in 1994 to directly address the immediate and long-range needs of the Sacramento area homeless, runaway, and street youth and their families.
Brown was all smiles doing his first ever Thanksgiving event with the Sacramento Kings.
“It was really fun, every time you get to come out and show your face in the community especially to these little kids right here.” Brown said, “This is my first year and I want to go out and interact with the community and get my face out there as much as possible.”
Although many might not have a home to go home to, everyone left the WIND facility that day with full tummies and an autograph or two to show that the Sacramento Kings care.
