The NBA Draft Lottery has a long tradition of team's testing their luck - whether it's by sending lucky fans, GM's, or the owners making an appearance themselves - to try to move up and grab the No. 1 overall pick.
This year the Sacramento Kings are sending team legend and new VP of Basketball and Franchise Operations Vlade Divac.
For Divac, this is his first trip to the NBA Draft Lottery.
“Hopefully my presence there is going to bring some fortune and we can move up,” said Divac on Friday. “It’s a very important (Draft for us). We are in position where we are one or two steps away from being really exciting.”
When asked what type of lucky charm he will try to bring on May 19 to New York City, Vlade remained coy, but did share a special anecdote.
“When I was drafted in ’89, Sacramento had the No. 1 pick, so let’s start with that.”
