Sim's India Blog: Day 2

After enjoying the hospitality of Taj Lands End, Bandra, I headed for a photo shoot with NBA India’s social media team. I gave almost all possible poses for them to get the right pictures. After this I headed to a pre-game show for one of the most exciting sports properties in India called Indian Premier League (IPL). My Indian experience would be incomplete without cricket.

Thanks to Sony Six, NBA’s official broadcasters in India, who also broadcast the IPL, I got a chance to rub shoulders with some of India’s most recognized faces in the game. At the studio I met India’s T20 World Cup winning fast bowler R.P. Singh and an accomplished opening batsman in Akash Chopra.

It was a great experience speaking to seasoned professionals of the sport that is a national passion here. In fact, a lot of people, especially the large Indian community back home follow cricket as much as basketball. Post the show appearance; I headed straight to airport to go to Noida where I will be a part of the first Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA National Elite Camp on May 4, 2015. It’s going to be exciting with the youth in Noida and I am looking forward to it. This is my exact purpose to be India, to inspire them to take up this great sport of basketball.
