Kings Unable to Slow Red-Hot Bucks

On pace to reach the century mark after the first quarter, the teams were neck and neck, with the score favoring Milwaukee, 25-24.

The ensuing frame continued the offensive production from both teams with each making over 50 percent of their attempts from the field. However, 66-percent shooting allowed the Bucks to explode for 44 points in the period. Most notable was Milwaukee’s ability to score from the perimeter, making 8-of-12 shots from downtown.

Despite bettering their first period score in the ensuing quarter, the Kings found themselves trailing by 19 points as a result of the Bucks offensive burst. Giannis Antetokounmpo paced the way for Milwaukee in the half, with 22. Willie Cauley-Stein had 10 points in the half to lead the home team.

In the final half of play, the Kings chipped away at the substantial gap Milwaukee had built. Sacramento outscored their opponent by four in the third period, on the back of outshooting the Bucks 45-percent to just 32-percent.

The second quarter rally proved to be the difference in the contest, as Sactown outscored their visitors 48-47 in the third and fourth frames.

Antetokounmpo finished with 32 to lead the Bucks while Buddy Hield tied a career-high with 21 points to lead the Kings.

  • Hield tied his career-high on the back of 50 percent shooting overall. It was another solid performance from the rookie, and his 12th double-digit scoring output in 14 games with the Kings.
  • Tyreke Evans had a good game, continuing his overall solid play. He scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half.
