Šarić was named player of the year in the Adriatic League after leading the league in both scoring and rebounding during the 2013-14 season. His average of 16.7 points per game last year was nearly double his scoring output from the previous season. Šarić was also very efficient at the U-19 World Championships in Prague last summer finishing second in scoring (20.3 per game) and rebounding (11.2 per game). He also dished out the second-most assists per game as the international prospect averaged 4.9 helpers per contest. Early in the tournament, Šarić had his best outing as Croatia faced South Korea in the opening round. The Sibenik native earned a triple-double as he registered 32 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in a 106-89 victory on June 27.

“It’s unclear whether early entrant Dario Šarić wants to play in the NBA next season or remain in Europe, but if either the Celtics or Lakers draft him, he plans to come stateside, reports David Pick of Eurobasket.com. Most projections have him going a little lower than Boston’s No. 6 pick or L.A.’s No. 7 pick, but perhaps the knowledge of his immediate willingness to play will prompt one of those teams to bite.” - Chuck Myron, HoopsRumors.com
“Šarić has been on scouts' radars for some time now, proving to be an effective player at the European pro level at a young age. His highly polished skill set may be a better fit for Europe, however his toughness and feel for the game gives him some intrigue for the NBA. What he lacks for in speed and athleticism, he makes up for in skill level and desire. Šarić was a point guard as a youth, and retains a tremendous feel and the vision and passing to create for others. His jump shot continues to be a work in progress. He'll also need to continue to get stronger as his lack of speed on the perimeter likely makes him a PF in the NBA.” - HoopsHype.com
“Forward Dario Šarić might be the best foreign talent in the 2014 NBA draft behind Australia's Dante Exum. Šarić, like Exum, should [be] selected somewhere among the first 14 picks and he has two preferred destinations.” - Nick Borges, ESPN.com
