Preview: Kings (27-44) at Warriors (57-14)

Holding the NBA’s best record, the Golden State Warriors are in the midst of a League-best five-game winning streak. For the Kings, that means attempting to hand the Warriors just their fifth home loss of the season to split the season series at two games apiece.

During the winning streak, Golden State was won its last four contests handily by a double digit margin with its most recent win coming versus the Dallas Mavericks. The backcourt duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 40 in the win, but it was the team’s defense that stood out, limiting their opponents to just 36-percent from the field.

In the last meeting between Sacramento and Golden State, the Warriors stormed back from a slight halftime deficit to pull away by as many as 32 thanks to a 42-point third quarter.

For the Kings, the purple and black are hoping to end a three-game losing skid, missing the 100-point scoring mark in two of their past three outings. Increased offensive production and defensive tenacity will be needed for the squad to emerge victorious versus the Pacific Division leaders.

Key Matchup

A constant perimeter threat, Garrett Temple will be tasked with limiting Warriors’ sharpshooter Klay Thompson, who scored 35, including 17 in the third quarter of the teams’ last meeting.
