Four straight victories have the Oklahoma City Thunder tied with the Denver Nuggets as the Association’s hottest team.

Convincing wins over the Spurs, Jazz and Raptors has OKC on the heels of the Western Conference’s fifth seed, a half-game behind the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Thunder’s Russell Westbrook has led the team during the stretch, continuing his historic triple-double pace. Over Oklahoma City’s last five games, he’s posted averages of 33 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.

Most recently, in a rout of the Toronto Raptors, seven Thunder players scored in double figures led by Westbrook’s 24/16/10 line. Oklahoma City outscored Toronto by 27 points from beyond the arc while holding their opponents to 46-percent overall.

In the last meeting between Sacramento and Oklahoma City, the Thunder narrowly escaped Golden 1 Center with a 122-118 victory. The trio of Westbrook, Kanter and Oladipo proved to be the difference, combining for 88 of OKC’s 122 points.

The Kings however, are a new look team compared to the teams’ last meeting. With an uptick in play for big men Skal Labissiere and Willie Cauley-Stein, the duo has thrived, leading Sactown to a win over Phoenix on Wednesday.

In addition, the play of Buddy Hield has added a perimeter threat to Sacramento, with Hield in the midst of a career-best shooting stretch in his young NBA career.

Key Matchup
Darren Collison will be responsible for limiting Westbrook, one of the NBA’s deadliest talents. Holding the athletic guard to one opportunity per possession while forcing tough shots will be key for the squad to emerge victorious.

Did You Know?
Collison and Westbrook teamed up at UCLA during the 2007-08 collegiate season, making it all the way to the Final Four.
