Preview: Kings (26-42) at Knicks (28-41)

Despite erasing an 18-point first-half deficit, the Kings were unable to complete the comeback on Friday against the Detroit Pistons, falling 115-108.

DeMarcus Cousins logged 31 points and a team-high 10 rebounds against the Pistons, which marked his 25th game this season with 30 or more points.

Additionally, Rajon Rondo nearly had another triple-double, notching 10 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists. No. 9 now has 33 double-doubles this year and has recorded 10 or more assists 45 times during the 2015-16 campaign.

Sacramento’s four-game road swing continues with a matchup against the N.Y. Knicks on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

After a promising start to the season, the Knicks have stumbled down the stretch and have lost seven of their past 10 games.

New York is led by All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony, who’s averaging 21.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per contest. The Knicks have also seen notable contributions from rookie big man Kristaps Porzingis, as he’s adding 13.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

The contest will be the second and final matchup between the squads this season after the Kings came away with a narrow 99-97 home victory in the first meeting earlier this season.

  • Sacramento has won three straight games against New York and is looking to sweep the season series in back-to-back years.
  • A win would also tie the franchise record for longest winning streak against the Knicks at four games – a record set back in the 1976-77 season.
  • Knicks forward Derrick Williams will take on his former team after he spent the previous two seasons suiting up for the purple and black. In the first meeting against the Kings this season, D-Will played just six minutes.
