Preview: Kings (21-29) at Celtics (30-22)

In the four-game trip opener, DeMarcus Cousins recorded his fourth career triple-double and first of the season with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Darren Collison chipped in with a team-high 25 points off the bench and Rajon Rondo tallied 15 points and 15 assists, but a hot-shooting Brooklyn Nets squad was able to hold off the visitors, handing Sactown its sixth loss in its last seven games.

Meanwhile, Boston is coming off an exhilarating buzzer-beating win over the Eastern Conference leading Cleveland Cavaliers. The Celtics have won three straight, including six in a row at home and eight out of 10 overall. In the teams’ previous meeting in Mexico City, Boston handed the Kings a 114-97 loss behind Isaiah Thomas’ 21-point outing.

  • The Kings shot 41 free throws in the first meeting between the teams, but tough Boston defense held the squad to just 37 percent from the floor.
  • In his return to TD Garden last season, Rajon Rondo scored a career-high 15 first quarter points, ending the night with 29 points on 12-of-19 shooting.
