Preview: Kings (27-43) vs Bucks (35-35)

After a little more than a week away, the Sacramento Kings return home for a matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Kings host a Bucks team in the thick of a tight Playoff race at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

The Kings are hoping to get back into the win column following a 1-2 road trip. In their first contest, Skal Labissiere had a career night, scoring 32 points on 11-of-15 shooting along with 15 rebounds in a 107-101 win over the Phoenix Suns. However, they fell victim to back-to-back 16-point losses to close out the journey. First, Oklahoma City handed them a 110-94 defeat on Saturday then Sunday, they fell 118-102 to the San Antonio Spurs.

Wednesday’s meeting is the first time the two teams have squared off since early November. The Bucks handily defeated the Kings 117-91 on their home court, leading by as many as 31 points. Giannis Antetokounmpo flirted with a triple double in the win, scoring 17 points, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out eight assists to lead Milwaukee. Garrett Temple, meanwhile, was the lone spark for Sacramento, finishing with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting.

Key Matchup

Antetokounmpo is a key cog to much of Milwaukee’s success this year. This season, the Greek Freak is averaging career bests in points (23.3), rebounds (8.6), assists (5.5), steals (1.7) and blocks. Temple, Tyreke Evans and/or Arron Afflalo will likely get the call on defense against the young superstar.

Did You Know?

Buddy Hield is averaging 18.3 points while shooting better than 46 percent from three in six games as a King.
