Preview: Kings (21-28) at Nets (12-38)

Following a close loss to the shorthanded Chicago Bulls, the Kings will attempt to snap a three-game road losing skid as they turn their attention to the Brooklyn Nets.

Sacramento has gone 5-5 in its last 10 games, allowing 100-plus points in each of the past six games. During the stretch, DeMarcus Cousins has averaged 30.3 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.4 steals per game.

In the team’s previous matchup versus Brooklyn, Boogie tallied a then season-high of 40 points on 13-of-27 shooting, grabbing 13 rebounds on the night as well.

The Nets have lost five straight games, and nine out of their past 10 overall. During the previous matchup between the pair, Sactown squeaked out with a 111-109 victory. In the key matchup of the game, Cousins held Nets star center Brook Lopez to just 5-of-15 from the field, and forced Lopez into foul trouble, limiting his contributions.

  • This begins a four-game road trip for the Kings, with their next contest at Sleep Train Arena taking place on February 19.
  • Rudy Gay did not play in the teams’ previous meeting, but averaged 25 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in two games versus the Nets in 2014-15.
  • Lopez is averaging 21.6 points over his last 10 games.
