Practice Notes: ‘It’s Time to Get Started’

An offseason filled with change came to a close on Tuesday afternoon and the Kings officially reigned in the 2016-17 season with a flight to Phoenix. Months of preparation, adjustments, training and more have led to the contest as the team sets to face its first matchup of the regular season against the Suns.

All-Star DeMarcus Cousins was in high spirits following the Kings final practice, sharing his excitement for the return of the NBA season.

“I know what we’re putting in day-to-day,” Cousins said. “I know we’re in here working and trying to get better every day.

“I’m ready to go,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kings sharpshooter Omri Casspi is hoping to build off a career season in 2015-16, beginning the team’s regular season slate with all focus set on Phoenix.

“It’s the beginning of the year and we want to get started on the right foot,” Casspi said. “The game in Phoenix is a good opportunity to get started with a win and we’re looking forward to it.”

Cousins, Casspi and the Kings will take the floor on Wednesday at 7 pm with coverage available on CSN California, Sports 1140 KHTK radio and the Kings + Golden 1 Center app.
