Short-Handed Kings Fall to Jazz

Sacramento put up a fight on Wednesday in Utah.

In the second game of a back-to-back and without the services of either DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay or Darren Collison for the first time this season, the Kings reserves held their own through three quarters.

Trailing by two entering the fourth quarter, the Jazz used a 18-5 run to open the quarter and effectively put the game away.

Omri Casspi continued his hot shooting following his career-high 31-point night on Tuesday, recording 16 points while shooting 56 percent from the field.

Jason Thompson also helped by recording his sixth double-double of the year with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

With the loss Sacramento dropped the season series 3-1 to Utah.

  • Nik Stauskas missed his second game of the season while recovering from a mild back sprain.
  • Gordon Hayward was held in check for the second-consecutive game against the Kings. The talented young forward averaged just 4.5 points over the last two contests.
  • Jazz forward Derrick Favors recorded 18 points and 11 rebounds.
