In a back-and-forth contest, the Kings trailed by one with 6:11 to play.
Utah responded following a timeout by head coach Quin Snyder with a 14-2 run - nine of which came from rookie guard Rodney Hood.
Hood, who was drafted out of Duke in 2014, scored 11 of the team's final 18 points - finishing with a career-high 25 - to help the Jazz hold off any late charge by Sacramento.

Ben McLemore also reached the 20-point plateau to go along with five rebounds, four assists and a career-high-tying four steals.
