Kings Unable To Cool Red-Hot Nets

Despite shooting 50 percent from the field and forcing 22 Nets turnovers, the Kings allowed their opposition to shoot 56 percent from the field, including 18-of-28 from the three-point line (64 percent).

Trailing by just four at halftime, a 38-24 third quarter ballooned the purple and black’s deficit to 18. In the third frame, Donald Sloan, Brook Lopez and Thaddeus Young combined for 33 points on 13-of-15 shooting, as Brooklyn shot 65 percent overall in the quarter.

Sacramento outscored Brooklyn by nine points in the fourth quarter, but its comeback effort wasn’t enough, falling by nine to start the four-game road trip.

  • DeMarcus Cousins recorded his first triple-double of the season and fourth in his career, scoring 24 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing 10 assists. Cousins’ four threes on Friday also matched a career-high.
  • Rajon Rondo recorded 15 points and 15 assists, marking the 14th time this season he’s had 15 or more dimes.
  • Darren Collison scored a team-high 25 points on 7-of-9 shooting.
  • Brooklyn’s Bojan Bogdanovic hit a career-high seven three-pointers on the night.

The Kings will continue their road trip on Sunday morning against the Boston Celtics. Fans wishing to view the game can tune in via CSN California or KHTK SPORTS 1140 AM.
