WNBA YOUTH CLINICS PRESENTED BY DISCOVER® CARD TIPS OFF ACROSS THE COUNTRY
-- Basketball Clinics Incorporate Tools to Help Children Understand Basic Finances --

NEW YORK, NY, November 5, 2007 – The WNBA and Discover Financial Services have partnered to launch a series of basketball youth clinics to be conducted in WNBA markets through December 2007. Clinics led by WNBA players and legends are designed to teach youth, ages 8 through13, the fundamentals of basketball while stressing the values of the game, sportsmanship, teamwork, dedication and healthy living. Each WNBA team will host a clinic for a selected youth group in their local community.

Discover® Card, the official credit card of the WNBA, also will be providing Discover® Gift Cards and “Moonjar™” moneyboxes to help children learn about the basics of savings, spending and sharing.

"The WNBA is pleased to partner with Discover Card as we both look to contribute to the lives of our youth,” said WNBA President Donna Orender. "Thanks to Discover Card, WNBA players have yet another great opportunity to meet with kids in their communities, teaching basketball skills while also stressing the importance of teamwork, self-sacrifice and showing passion for everything you do."

“We believe it’s never too early to learn about good financial management. Through our partnership with the WNBA, we’re able to bring another aspect to the clinics by providing tools that help kids start off on the right foot when it comes to managing and spending money,” said Dana Traci, Vice President of Prepaid & Partner Marketing for Discover Financial Services.

As the official credit card of the WNBA, Discover Card offers special incentives and benefits to WNBA fans, including exclusive team card designs, unique access to the “Discover Card Fan Lounge,” and the opportunity to make a $20 donation to WNBA Cares upon the applicant’s first purchase.
