The Gold Crown fieldhouse has hosted the Denver Gatorade Championship series for the past 4 years. It is one of our nicest facilities, where we are able to run (4) courts of tournament games, plus an additional (2) courts for the Skills Challenge and shooting games with Nuggets Community Ambassadors Mark Randall and Erving Johnson.
The opening ceremonies began at 9am with first round boys games tipping off at 9:10 and first round girls games tipping off at 10am. In both girls and boys division, first round games were competitive.
Denver Nuggets:
The Denver Nuggets and Jr. Nuggets staff were on hand from 9am-1pm operating the addition (2) courts, for shooting games and the Skills Challenge. They also had a table with ticket information and prizes. Denver Nuggets Community Ambassadors Mark Randall and Erving Johnson were on site from 11-Noon, signing autographs and did a ceremony jump ball for the Semifinal game on all four courts.
Gatorade:
All players were provided Gatorade Championship Series jerseys, royal/white for the boys team and red/white reversible for the girls teams.
The fieldhouse was decorated with numerous Gatorade Championship series banners and Jr. NBA generic banners. All players received energy bars and water bottles from gatorade.
