Filmed at the NBA Store on Fifth Avenue in New York City, NBA Legends with Johnny Hoops presented by Quicken Loans features a sit-down interview by John Andariese with a different NBA legend.

In addition to the exclusive interviews, the show offers unique segments like "NBA Legends Snapshot" which the featured legend comments on a photo or film clip from his past. Another segment is "NBA Legends Last Second Shots" which calls for the guest to answer a variety of basketball and non-basketball questions.

Hubie Brown discusses his high school and college years, playing three sports. Johnny Hoops also asks him about his coaching career, how he started in high school and progressed to the pros, eventually winding up as head coach in the ABA with the Kentucky Colonels. Brown discusses how the jobs came about, mentioning that he and Chuck Daly were assistants at Duke under Vic Bubas. He then talks about jobs with the Hawks and Knicks in the NBA, how he got his first job in broadcasting, the Grizzlies and finally, the Hall of Fame.

Tom Heinsohn discusses his basketball life, starting with the man who introduced the game to him, Perry delPergatorio. He addresses his choice of Holy Cross for college and then his time playing for and coaching the Celtics. From his playing days, he discusses Bill Russell's bitterness when Heinsohn won the Rookie of the Year and a prank he pulled on Red Auerbach involving an exploding cigar. He also talks about the difference in winning the championship as a player and as a coach. He addresses his life outside of basketball, insurance and painting, as well as his career as a broadcaster.
