Utah Jazz, Delta Air Lines Ink Sponsorship Renewal

SALT LAKE CITY (December 12, 2011) – Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) and the Utah Jazz announced today that they have renewed their multi-year partnership, one of the team’s longest-tenured corporate partnerships. Delta, which will continue to serve as the official charter carrier for the Jazz team, also remains the franchise’s official airline.

“The Utah Jazz and Delta Air Lines have a long history together,” said Randy Rigby, President of the Utah Jazz. “We are thankful for their continued support and we look forward to continuing our partnership with the world’s premier airline.”

As a part of Delta’s agreement with the Jazz, the west entrance of EnergySolutions Arena will be adorned with Delta-branded graphic elements. Other components of the agreement include in-game promotions and player appearances.

“The Utah Jazz are a favorite for so many of our customers in the Salt Lake City region and we are incredibly pleased to continue the long tradition of partnership between our two great organizations,” said Tim Mapes, Delta’s senior vice president – marketing.

Delta first became a Jazz sponsor in 1985 and was the original naming rights holder for Utah’s 19,911 seat arena. The airline has been the team’s charter carrier since the 2009-10 NBA season.

With more than 250 peak-day departures to 86 nonstop destinations, Delta operates more service from Salt Lake City than any airline, including nonstop service to Paris and seasonal service to Tokyo.
