Rudy Gobert Named To Samsung All-NBA Summer League Second Team

Jazz center averaged 11.8 points and 9.8 rebounds over four games.

LAS VEGAS, July 20, 2014 – The NBA announced tonight that Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert was named to the Samsung All-NBA Summer League Second Team. Gobert averaged 11.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 23.8 minutes over four games.

Gobert (7-1, 245, France) completed his rookie season with the Jazz in 2013-14, appearing in 45 games and averaging 2.3 points and 3.4 rebounds. The 22-year-old Jazzman was selected in the first round (27th overall pick) in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Glen Rice, Jr., who was named the Samsung NBA Summer League Most Valuable Player, is joined on the Samsung All-NBA Summer League First Team by Wizards teammate Otto Porter, along with Chicago Bulls Doug McDermott and Tony Snell and Donatas Motiejunas of the Houston Rockets.

Joining Gobert on the Samsung All-NBA Summer League Second Team are Tim Hardaway, Jr. (New York Knicks), Jordan McRae (Philadelphia 76ers), Russ Smith (New Orleans Pelicans) and T.J. Warren (Phoenix Suns). 

Samsung NBA Summer League 2014 has featured a tournament-style schedule for the second consecutive year, with the Golden State Warriors having won the inaugural championship in 2013.  Each of the participating teams played three games apiece between July 11 and 15 before being seeded in the tournament, which tipped off on July 16 and will run through the championship game on July 21.
