Jazz Obtains Future First-Round Pick from Memphis

SALT LAKE CITY (February 18, 2010)
Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor announced today that the team has acquired a future first-round pick from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for guard Ronnie Brewer. Following the trade, the Jazz roster now stands at 12 players.

"We would like to thank Ronnie for his contributions over these past three-plus seasons," said general manager Kevin O'Connor. "We felt that this was the right move for the future of the Jazz organization at this time, and wish Ronnie the best of luck in the future."

The future first round draft pick sent to Utah is Top 14-protected in 2011, Top-12 protected in 2012, Top-10 protected in 2013 and Top-9 protected from 2014-15. If the pick has not been conveyed after the 2015 NBA Draft, the Jazz will receive cash considerations from the Grizzlies.

Brewer (6-7, 236, Arkansas), appeared in 53 games (all starts) for the Jazz this season, averaging 9.5 points, 2.8 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 31.4 minutes per game. Originally selected by the Jazz in the first round (14th overall pick) of the 2006 NBA Draft, the former Arkansas Razorback averaged 10.5 points, 1.8 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 266 career games (223 starts) over his three-and-a-half seasons with the Jazz.
